Naya Khang Peak Climbing is one of the best non-technical Himalayan adventures, offering a perfect mix of high-altitude challenge, Manaslu views, and authentic Tamang culture.
We, Great Panorama Treks and Expedition (P)Ltd here offers you Naya Khang Peak Climbing. This peak is a less popular climbing peak and is climbed by fewer climbers in Nepal. The altitude of Naya Khang Peak is 5800m. The peak is also known as Ganja La and is one of the popular trekking peaks in Nepal. This peak is the nearest peak to Kathmandu. It lies 19 miles or 30 km north of the Kathmandu Valley in the Langtang region. It is suited for beginner climbers due to its nontechnical geographical structure. Everyone who has trekking experience and good physical fitness can climb the peak. The classical trek combines three major areas along the border of Tibet: Langtang, Helambu, and Gosainkunda Lake. Since the Nayakhang peak includes the Helambu valley, you can view the beautiful scenery of nature. Helambu Valley is very famous for its natural beauty and wonderful climate, with superb views of magnificent snow-covered mountains.
Many people make a plan after this peak climb, and they continue the Helambu Sherpa Valley Trek after crossing the Ganjala Pass, which is also difficult even after climbing the peak. The best season for this is from September to November and March to May, which is the best season for trekking and expeditions in Nepal
Climbing Naya Khang Peak offers climbers not only a thrilling Himalayan adventure but also an immersive cultural experience in the Solukhumbu and Khumbu regions of Nepal. The journey begins in Kathmandu, where climbers prepare and receive traditional blessings for safety and success. The trek then proceeds through small Sherpa villages such as Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazaar, where centuries-old Tibetan Buddhist traditions are visible in monasteries, chortens, prayer flags, and mani walls. Villagers dressed in traditional Sherpa attire warmly welcome trekkers, offering insights into their unique customs and daily life. Before ascending Naya Khang, a Puja ceremony is typically performed at base camp to seek spiritual protection from the mountain deities, a practice deeply respected by the local communities. Climbers witness authentic Sherpa lifestyles, from yak herding to high-altitude farming, which highlights their resilience and harmonious relationship with nature. Unique Sherpa Trek & Expedition ensures that cultural interactions are respectful, meaningful, and preserve local traditions, making the journey as enriching as the climb itself.
Naya Khang Peak, standing at 6,627 meters, is located in the eastern Himalayan region of Nepal. The expedition showcases the dramatic diversity of Himalayan landscapes, from lush river valleys and terraced fields in the lower regions to alpine meadows, glaciers, and rugged ridgelines at higher altitudes. The climb involves navigating mixed snow and ice slopes, glaciers, and technical rock sections, providing both a challenging and rewarding alpine experience. From high camps and the summit, climbers enjoy panoramic 360-degree views of neighboring peaks, including Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Everest, as well as deep valleys carved by glacial rivers. The journey features serene alpine lakes, moraines, and expansive snowfields, offering breathtaking photography and a sense of isolation amidst raw natural beauty. Unique Sherpa Trek & Expedition meticulously plans acclimatization rotations, high camp locations, and summit strategy to maximize safety and efficiency in this demanding geographic setting. The region’s remote and pristine environment makes Naya Khang a hidden gem for mountaineers seeking adventure away from crowded peaks.
From a humanitarian and human-interest perspective, climbing Naya Khang Peak fosters teamwork, resilience, and a profound connection with the people and the environment. The expedition relies on close collaboration between climbers, Sherpa guides, and porters, creating bonds built on trust, communication, and shared purpose. Unique Sherpa Trek & Expedition emphasizes ethical mountaineering, environmental protection, and support for local communities through responsible tourism and employment. Life at base camp and high camps encourages cultural exchange, camaraderie, and mutual respect among climbers from different countries. The challenges of high altitude, cold temperatures, and technical terrain teach patience, perseverance, and humility. Observing the Sherpa guides’ knowledge of mountain survival, weather patterns, and environmental stewardship enriches the human experience of the expedition. Every step toward the summit of Naya Khang Peak is both a physical achievement and a personal transformation. The expedition encourages climbers to develop empathy for local communities, respect for nature, and understanding of the human capacity to overcome challenges. Ultimately, Naya Khang climbing with Unique Sherpa Trek & Expedition is a harmonious blend of culture, geography, and humanity, creating an unforgettable Himalayan adventure that leaves lasting memories and life-changing experiences.

From Dhunche, we shall head on an initially gradually descending trail to Thulo Syabru. We walk on the foothills of Syabru and, along the way, we can see Ganesh Himal (7,422m) and Langtang Mountain. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.
The trail for today takes us across the Bhote Koshi River and into the banks of the Langtang River. Our destination for today is the Lama hotel which is basically a group of small lodges in the middle of wilderness. Use properly fitted 10–12 point mountaineering crampons suitable for your boots. Crampons provide traction on snow, ice, glaciers, and steep frozen terrain. Always check the boot-and-crampon fit before climbing.
A suitable 50–65 cm mountaineering ice axe is essential for balance, snow travel, and appropriate self-arrest techniques.
Carry a comfortable and adjustable mountaineering climbing harness for fixed-rope and technical climbing sections.
A lightweight, properly fitted climbing helmet protects your head from falling rocks, ice, and other climbing hazards.
A Jumar/ascender is useful for ascending fixed ropes and steep climbing sections where the climbing team's rope system requires it.
Carry a suitable ATC, Figure-8, or other approved belay/descender device according to your climbing team's rope system.
Carry suitable locking carabiners for connecting your harness and approved climbing safety systems.
Non-locking carabiners are useful for attaching slings and other climbing equipment where appropriate.
Carry 120 cm and 60 cm climbing slings or the sizes recommended by your climbing guide for personal attachment and rope-management systems.
A suitable Prusik loop or accessory cord provides backup within appropriate rope systems. Use it only if you are trained in its correct application.
Depending on the route, season, and climbing plan, ice screws may be required for protection or anchors. They should be handled only by appropriately trained climbers and the climbing team.
A snow bar or other snow protection equipment may be required for establishing secure anchors depending on actual route conditions.
Appropriate climbing ropes may be required for technical sections. Rope selection and setup should be managed by the qualified climbing team according to route conditions.
Carry a lightweight 30–40 liter climbing backpack for the summit push, with enough space for water, extra layers, snacks, and essential technical equipment.
A durable 60–80 liter waterproof or water-resistant duffel bag is useful for carrying your main belongings during the approach trek and expedition.
Carry a warm four-season sleeping bag suitable for high-altitude conditions for cold nights at base camp and higher camps.
A lightweight insulated sleeping mat provides warmth and insulation from the cold ground during camping.
Pack 2 sets of moisture-wicking thermal tops and bottoms for cold mornings, nights, and summit-day conditions.
Carry 2–3 lightweight, quick-drying trekking shirts for warmer lower-altitude sections.
Bring 2–3 pairs of durable trekking pants suitable for long walking days and changing weather conditions.
A warm fleece or mid-layer jacket provides insulation while allowing you to adjust clothing according to changing temperatures.
A quality down or synthetic insulated jacket is essential for high camps, cold evenings, and the summit push.
Carry a breathable waterproof and windproof shell to protect against rain, snow, strong winds, and rapidly changing Himalayan weather.
Warm insulated trousers provide additional protection during cold nights and the summit attempt.
Waterproof and windproof shell pants protect your legs from snow, rain, wind, and wet conditions.
Carry lightweight liner gloves plus warm insulated climbing gloves or mittens for protection against freezing temperatures.
A warm beanie and balaclava protect your head, ears, neck, and face from cold wind and freezing temperatures.
A buff or neck gaiter protects your face and neck from cold wind, snow, dust, and dry mountain air.
High-quality UV-protection glacier sunglasses are essential for protecting your eyes from intense sunlight and snow glare.
Snow goggles are strongly recommended for the summit push during strong winds, snowfall, or blowing snow.
Carry SPF 50+ sunscreen and high-protection lip balm to protect against intense UV radiation, wind, and cold.
Waterproof gaiters help keep snow and moisture away from your boots and protect your lower legs during snow climbing.

Carry a powerful and reliable headlamp with spare batteries because summit attempts often begin before sunrise.
Carry sufficient water capacity and an insulated flask to help prevent water from freezing in cold high-altitude conditions.

Bring a compact first-aid kit containing blister treatment, bandages, antiseptic supplies, medical tape, and basic trekking necessities.
Carry sufficient personal medication and keep it protected, dry, and easily accessible throughout the expedition.
Naya Khang is a high-altitude climbing objective, so proper acclimatization is essential. Follow your qualified climbing guide's acclimatization plan and use only altitude-related medication recommended or prescribed by an appropriate medical professional.

Keep your passport, climbing permit, Langtang-area permits where applicable, insurance details, emergency contacts, and other documents protected in a waterproof pouch.
A 10,000–20,000 mAh power bank is useful for charging your smartphone, camera, GPS device, and other electronics.
Bring a camera or smartphone to capture Naya Khang Peak, Langtang Valley, Langtang Lirung, glaciers, high camps, alpine landscapes, and spectacular Himalayan views.
Use waterproof dry bags or packing bags to protect clothing, electronics, documents, sleeping equipment, and valuables from snow and moisture.
Carry lightweight high-energy foods such as energy bars, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate, biscuits, and electrolyte products for demanding trekking and climbing days.
Pack lightweight toiletries including toothbrush, toothpaste, biodegradable soap, tissues, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and a small quick-drying towel.
Lightweight sandals or camp shoes allow your feet to rest comfortably after trekking and climbing.
Carry basic repair supplies such as spare boot laces, strong repair tape, small sewing items, and other personal emergency necessities.
For a remote high-altitude expedition, the climbing team should have appropriate communication, navigation, weather-information, and emergency equipment according to the route and expedition plan.
Depending on the package, route, season, and current conditions, the climbing agency may provide or coordinate ropes, ice screws, snow bars, anchors, tents, cooking equipment, and other group climbing equipment. Confirm exactly which items are included in your package before departure. Published Nepal peak-climbing guidance recommends checking what the agency supplies rather than assuming all technical equipment is provided.
Physical fitness, technical climbing skills, proper acclimatization, teamwork, patience, and a positive attitude are essential for a successful Naya Khang Peak Climbing adventure.
The most important Naya Khang Peak climbing equipment includes crampon-compatible mountaineering boots, crampons, a mountaineering ice axe, climbing harness, helmet, Jumar/ascender, belay or descender device, locking carabiners, climbing slings, Prusik cord, gloves, thermal layers, a down jacket, waterproof shell clothing, glacier sunglasses, snow goggles, gaiters, a headlamp, and a four-season sleeping bag. These are core items in Nepal peak-climbing equipment recommendations and Naya Khang-specific packing lists.
A practical high-altitude clothing system is:
Thermal Base Layer → Fleece/Mid Layer → Down/Insulated Jacket → Waterproof & Windproof Shell
For the technical climbing section, ensure your mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, helmet, Jumar, carabiners, slings, and rope-system equipment are compatible, correctly fitted, and used according to your qualified climbing team's procedures.
Crampon compatibility is especially important. Bring your actual mountaineering boots when fitting crampons and test the complete system before summit day.
Not every technical item necessarily needs to be purchased individually. Depending on your Naya Khang Peak Climbing Package, some group or technical equipment may be supplied or available for rental in Kathmandu. Confirm exactly what Unique Sherpa Trek & Expedition Pvt.
